MANITOBA PULSE GROWERS ASSOCIATION DEGREE SCHOLARSHIP – $500

The Manitoba Pulse Growers Association (MPGA) wishes to encourage Agriculture Degree students enrolled in the University of Manitoba Degree program to develop an interest and technical competence in pulse production, processing and marketing.

A scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a student who:

  • has completed the first two years of study in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, one of which is designated University 1, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0;
  • proceeds in the next ensuing academic year to the third year of study in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences;
  • has achieved the highest grade point average in the courses: Natural Resources and Primary Agricultural Production (65.150), Production, Distribution and Utilization of Agricultural Products (65.151), Crop Production (39.250), and Introduction to Agribusiness Management (61.100).

Preference will be given to student with an interest in pulse crops.

The selection committee shall be the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences Awards Committee.

MANITOBA PULSE GROWERS ASSOCIATION DIPLOMA SCHOLARSHIP – $500

The Manitoba Pulse Growers Association (MPGA) wishes to encourage Agriculture Diploma students enrolled in the University of Manitoba Diploma program to develop an interest and technical competence in pulse production, processing and marketing.

A scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a student who:

  • has completed the first year of study in the School of Agriculture with a minimum sessional grade point average of 3.0;
  • is enrolled in a minimum 80 percent course-load and will be eligible to graduate at the end of the academic for which the award is given;
  • has achieved the highest grade point average in the courses: Introduction to Soils and Crops (DAGR 0420), Agricultural Economics and Marketing (DAGR 0440), and Soil Productivity and Land Use (DAGR 0420);
  • has registered for the courses: Special Crops (SOIL 0760) and Plant Disease Management (SOIL 0780).

The selection committee shall be the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences Awards Committee.

Assiniboine Community College

MANITOBA PULSE GROWERS ASSOCIATION AGRIBUSINESS BRIDGING AWARD – $750

The Manitoba Pulse Growers Association (MPGA) wishes to encourage Agriculture Diploma students enrolled at Assiniboine Community College (ACC) to develop an interest and technical competence in pulse production, processing and marketing.

A scholarship of $750 ($500 from MPGA and $250 contributed from the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursaries Initiative through ACC) will be awarded to a student who:

  • has completed Year I of the Agribusiness diploma program as a full-time student and be returning for Year II of the Agribusiness diploma program as a full-time students at ACC
  • has achieved academic achievement in Year 1 of the diploma program by earning a GPA of at least 3.0
  • has achieved the highest combined GPA in the following courses: Soils (AGRC-0088), Plant Science (AGRC-0100), Soil Fertility & Fertilizers (AGRC-0092), Crop Production Systems (AGRC-0219), Disease and Insect Management (AGRC-009).
