Variety Data

The results found within these publications are made possible with your continued support through the check-off levy. Financial assistance has also been received in the past from the Government of Canada’s Matching Investment Initiatives (MII). It should also be noted the Manitoba Crop Variety Evaluation Team (MCVET) has provided the pea data and cost- shared the lentil data with MPGA.

MPGA appreciates the hard work of the staff at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Morden Research Station who conducts the Wide Row Screening Trials, and provides the crop yield, disease and seed quality data in time for these publications. In addition MPGA would like to acknowledge the contractors who plant, monitor and harvest the plots. MPGA’s appreciation also goes out to the various Manitoba Agriculture, Food, and Rural Initiatives staff that assists us in putting the Edible Bean Variety Trials together on an annual basis.

In each of the Variety Trial summaries you will find yield, maturity, and disease resistance data on edible beans, soybeans, peas, and lentils.

Contents of these publications can only be reproduced with the permission of MPGA.

NOTE for 2011: Addendum to the MPGA Pulse Variety Evaluation – Fall 2011

The Yield Comparison tables for Conventional Soybeans and Roundup Ready Soybeans are corrected from what appeared in the MPGA Trial Results insert - Fall 2011 (pages 11 and 13).

The corrected check yields of NSC Portage RR and OAC Prudence for the Conventional Soybeans, along with the CV% and LSD%, are located in the shaded area located at the bottom of the tables.  Please note that the relative yield data within the tables are correct in the versions appearing in the MPGA Pulse Variety Evaluation – Fall 2011.  The shared data found in the digital edition of Seed Manitoba 2012 is corrected and can be found at www.seedmb.ca.
